Sex & The True Christan

"...continued..."
Someday we all must stand alone before God and what will be our answer? Everyone must give an account for there actions. I must know and so do you.
The class I teach, Tabernacle of the Soul, is about the soul and how the inner things of the soul are patterned after the Tabernacle. Through this research of the Tabernacle, I discovered so many facets, patterned and principals that are applicable to our sexual behavior.
The bible teaches us that we are of body, mind and soul; “And let me live whole and holy, soul and body, so I can always walk with my head held high.” MSB (Ps 119:73)  and that your body is; “...the temple...” 1 Cor 6:19 I must live according to what scripture teaches and not what I think is the better way.
Your body is your Tabernacle, even your exterior, which is both body and Tabernacle.
The same way that the Tabernacle is the house of God and the soul is where He dwells within us, the body is the outward Tabernacle, they both must be kept holy and sanctified.  This is the pattern to guide ourselves when it comes to sex. Just as it is imperative that we all know about the soul, the body must be under the same subjection, unto God. Therefore, as the soul is the Tabernacle of God the body must be as well. Following this simple pattern, the Tabernacle of the Body demands the same holiness as the Tabernacle of the soul. In the same manner that God clothed Adam and Eve with skins, the Tabernacle was covered with skins. Using the same principals, as the Holies of Holy is the most sacred part of the Tabernacle, in our bodies there are sacred and holy places as well. When we expose or defile those sacred part of our body, your Tabernacle becomes defiled. When there is an unveiling of your "Holy Place", other than within the holiness of matrimony, we fall out of alinement with God, we lose His favor and blessing in our relationship.
The body as in the Tabernacle of the Holy Spirit and is to be kept a holy place before God. He will not dwell in unclean vessels. Jeremiah’s cried to the Lord because of the defilement of the HOUSE (The body) of God; “We are disgraced...and shame covers our faces because foreigners have entered the holy places of the Lord’s house.” A foreigner in this context is someone outside of marriage. Anyone not married into a family is considered a foreigner. Your covenant, covering keeps your body from exposer and makes your body holy before God. The most intimate part of your body is your Holies of Holy, and is to be a sacred place consecrated onto God.
Where are the guide lines? Just as the Holies of Holy is in the Tabernacle, you can find the guide lines. Where do you draw the line? Using the same principals of the Tabernacle. Nothing is to enter beyond the veil that is not ordained by God in holy matrimony. This is a defilement before the Altar of God. Your body is your Tabernacle and your most intimate place is your Holies of Holy.

Sex & Christianity - Continued

(See previous)

As a Christian I must have true scripture reference that will be applicable in any part of my live including sex. Not from the opinions of people, but what is scripturally acceptable, no matter how godly the source or advice may come, it must aline with scripture. With all respect to Leaders, Elders and Pastors, my Christian walk must be based on scripture principals. I must know FOR MY SELF, what is right in the eyes of God. I can’t go before Him, on my final day of life and say; “Thats what John Doe told me to do” I must know by conviction, to be able to stand before Him and be accountable for my actions.
Throughout many relationships, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me; “something was wrong”. The way I thought was right, was destroying wonderful relationships. I continued yielding to the Holy Spirit and searching scriptures for guide lines.
What are the boundaries and how do we stay within the limitations of scriptures and the perfect will of God? All through bible collage and as CO-Pastor of a large church downtown, I was guiding myself by the opinions of people and religion, however good or bad I had no basis to go by. For example; At one particular bible school I went to, the girls were forbidden to show there elbows or there knees. It was one of there sexual boundaries. You could not date or touch a student of the opposite sex. A mustache was considered ungodly and sexual and deemed forbidden. Are these truths from scriptures? They do not exist in the Bible. They are formulated by there own personal childhood or experiences, when mother said; “Sex is evil and is bad”.
Where do we draw the line? Where do we go for true godly advice and instruction? Some people have many rules that are based on there past childhood experiences or religious upbringing. Where do we go to obtain unadulterated, unvarnished pure guide lines, so that our actions within relationships will be acceptable unto God and glorify Him?

Sex and Christianity

Continued...

So where in scripture can we learn these patterns applicable to sex, in the twenty-first century. The old testament has plenty of laws and restrictions concerning relationships but, a little vague in some of there direct applications and can they be applied to todays culture and lifestyle? I use to visit a church that had a motto: “Where scripture is silent, we are silent” That sounds like a great way to get out of a-lot of difficult questions. It’s true there are no direct answers to many specific subjects, including sex, in married and unmarried couples. Pure physical love, between unmarried people is very heard to define. Fornication and adultery are very clearly defined in scripture which is, intercourse outside of marriage.
At what point does a love relationship become sex, and what are the boundaries? If left to our own understanding and imaginations from a corrupted nature, know telling what we’ll find. People from all walks-of-life within the church and out, have argued this and never come to a true acceptable guideline.
Being raised in a ‘Non-Christian’ home, I had a very distorted understanding of the boundaries when in an intimate relationship. How to treat, care and love. I did the best I knew with what I had. I remember an uncle telling me; “Sometimes you have to hit the woman, and then they’ll listen” How twisted and distorted is that...
As a Christian I carried over childhood understanding about love, romance and sex. I learned from; TV, movies and friends, as a result, I stumbled many times. I drew relationship boundaries based on the advice of others, my own personal experiences, not through scripture. How wrong and deceptive they were. I couldn’t understand what went wrong and why. What looked like a beautiful romantic and wonderful evening; “Turning off the cell phone and let the lights down low. Fireplace lit and soft guitar music” seemed to be the way to go. I did everything I knew, to give what I thought would be a good and godly. At the end, the evening would turnout all wrong. I understood later that, somethings will lead to ungodly behavior, no matter how good the intentions. What I didn’t realize is that without true godly relationship principals, I was left wide open to what ever came forth.

Sex and Christianity

Churches were very busy censuring magazines, books and movies. There work was good but, it left many young people void of the knowledge of sex in Christianity. Back then and still today in most religious groups, sex is a subject hard to approach and best left alone. The only knowledge of intercourse was what was learned through TV, friends or personal experiences in school, that had no godly advice at all. The bible tell us the truth will set us free. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31. Truth about sexual desires, inclinations and built-in dynamics, may be found through God’s design, principals and patterns that, ‘shall set you free’....to be continued...

Sex and Christianity

I am, by-no-means, to brag about, nor do I clam to be without fault, for I have many, but, I do feel the need to share my experience and maybe help someone along the way.

I wished that I were born to a Christian family with a strong biblical upbringing, nor did I have grandparents who lead me into godly morals. I was the first of my family to receive the Lord and make Him my life to follow.  I had no godly foundation or principals to set a standard for my live. My parents were not bad people, they lived the best they know how and did what they thought was morally right.
I became a Christian at 17. Back then sex was taboo. In church, you couldn’t even talk about it. Relationship behavior, was not tough, specially in the church. God forbid anyone would mention the word sex in church...to be continued...

Dark Night of the Soul

To many Christians, "Dark Night of the Soul" is a time in life when people becomes depressed, and you just live through it. Kind of like menopause, you can't do a thing about it, you just hang-in-there and hope to get through it without a scratch. In my studies of the soul, I must remind the readers that the soul was created by God and He knows all its needs and emotions. You don't have to "hang-in-there. With the creation of the soul He also has remedies.... 'Seek and you shall find' You don't have to live with it. He has the power to set you free NOW, today and for ever...

Triggers From The Soul

Triggers are merciless and come without warning. They can help you to see whats inside. Driving along the highway and you see one of those crazy drivers on there cell phone, not attending to what there doing, cut you off, doing about 90. In an instant your reaction of anger, trigers off, what is inside and you say; “#&@@@$%!” Instantly you realize what you just said and think; “Where did that come from?” Triggers of the soul.
The soul can’t lie. If it’s in there, guess what? It’s in there! You can’t get water from a cup of coffee. What you fill in the cup is what will come out. You can’t get bread from rocks. It’s impossible! If it’s in there, it’s in there. If it’s not, it’s not. The soul can’t lie. You can lie to me, your friends and even to your family and try to lie to your self, but your soul can’t lie. It will always reveal the truth about yourself and whats inside. Some say; “Just don’t think about it and it will go away." It won’t! It doesn’t go away! If it’s there, it’s there.
There is a way to remove it permanently from your soul and Jesus made away for you. When Jesus died on the cross the veil of the temple was torn in two. Jesus gave you access to enter into the Holy of Holies of your soul - Have you ever entered? Do you know whats there?
Read “Darkness Behind the Veil” buy the book, take the class, learn about the soul, your Tabernacle within or go to; "tabernacleofthe soul.com" for more information.

Don’t wait for another TRIGGER!

The Soul: Potentiality and Actuality

On my June 18th blog I quoted Aquinas;

Whether the Soul is Composed of Matter and Form? by Thomas Aquinas: "It would seem that the soul is composed of matter and form. For potentiality is opposed to actuality...the soul has a cause of its existence, since it is created by God. Therefore the soul has matter..."

In world philosophy
In philosophyPotentiality and Actuality[1] are principles of a dichotomy which Aristotle used throughout his philosophical works to analyze motioncausality, ethics, and physiology in his PhysicsMetaphysicsEthics and De Anima (which is about the human psyche) Aristotle define the soul as "the human psyche" Philosophy is for ever pleasant to the ear and causes the flesh to crave more. The things of this world always tries to define God to justify there actions. "For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds." 2 Pet. 2:8 To explain the existence of God is to be at a higher plane than God. When the only way to know and understand God is through His Son, the man Jesus. "No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." John 1:18.

Potentiality: Potentiality and potency are translations of the Ancient Greek word Dunamis or dynamis (δύναμις) as it is used by Aristotle as a concept contrasting with actuality. Its Latin translation is "potentia", root of the English word potential, and used by some scholars instead of the Greek or English variants.
Dunamis is an ordinary Greek word for possibility or capability. Depending on context, it could be translated "potency", "potential", "capacity", "ability", "power", "capability", "strength", "possibility", "force" and is the root of modern English words "dynamic", "dynamite", and "dynamo". In early modern philosophy, English authors like Hobbes and Locke used the English word "power" as their translation of Latin potentia."

Without going further into world philosophy we will continue understanding the God given and created - Soul.
The purpose of these definitions is to bringing you to the awareness the world teachings and how they have influenced our thoughts of scripture and views of the soul, spirit and body.
The soul is real and is a place within to be discovered through the Tabernacle. God created the soul and knows its place and purpose. The soul is in us, the center of who we are and the most valuable part of our existence. Every man woman or child has this place within called the soul. What are the dangers, weaknesses, abilities, fragility and fears, its strengths and growth. These are the things needed to repair, fill and strengthen the soul of man...

Is the soul real or is it thoughts & emotions?

Is the soul real?  Gen 2:7 "...and man became a living soul." Some Bibles exchanged the word soul for creature. A popular interpretation of the word soul is ego. The thought of man having a soul is far to hard to comprehend. It is something out of reach. Creature, yes, is within my ken but, how do I get around the thought of a living soul? I read an article entitled: Whether the Soul is Composed of Matter and Form? by Thomas Aquinas (1240) an immensely influential philosopher and theologian wrote: "It would seem that the soul is composed of matter and form. For potentiality is opposed to actuality...the soul has a cause of its existence, since it is created by God. Therefore the soul has matter..."
Today I leave you with a thought: If the soul is real, God created within everyone of us, shouldn't we strive to consider and learn its ways?

Soul & Truth

"Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through
the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently" 1 Peter 1:2

The battle between the flesh and the soul will end when we finish our course. Meanwhile, we press toward the higher mark. In my book, Darkness Behind The Veil, I describe the soul as a reservoir, filled with life's joys and sorrows. The soul, which many scholars call "Ego", define who we are and what we have become. Within confounds determined by borders created within, the ego sometimes keeps us imprisoned, not allowing us to freely live and be the true person God created us to be. By barriers - walls within the soul - we block Him out.
Freedom of the soul is a learning process not mandated by the flesh, the world, or its scholars, but by God through His Word. Tabernacle of the Soul is the way to understand and know the soul. It is not by highfalutin, pompous, or pretentious words, but by humble, plain, and simple adumbrate and symbols in the wilderness... So that in this we can truly "love one another with a pure heart fervently"...

Monthly blog

I just received a letter forwarded to me from RG that reads;

"Darkeness behind the veil? That sounds sooo interesting. I'm still longing for something to help me recover from a broken heart. Its been a long miserable 17 year journey and I keep making bad decisions from it. Will I ever be set free!!!"

RC, I know what you're going through I've been there. It may seem foolish to carry something for seventeen years, some might say; "Get over it" It is easily said from the mouth but, the soul is to most people unknown. The first principal of the soul is: "The soul can not lie" You can say, think, and believe all you want but, in the quiet moments of the night, when you're all alone, truth from within comes to the surface. Scriptures says: "The Father which sees in secret..."Matt 6:18 - because it is there in the secret place of the soul that all truth is revealed.

RC, You don't have to carry that pain anymore. God wants to free you permanently and forever. Learn and follow the patterns of The Tabernacle of the Soul and you will be free to live a more abundant and fruitful life.
